         Food Drive

In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln established Thanksgiving as a national holiday. Then 80 years later, Norman Rockwell painted the Thanksgiving dinner table as the American value of "Freedom from Want." Help us make that idea into a reality for New Jersey families this Thanksgiving. Thank you for your contributions!

Our food drives are in conjunction with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. For a list of  the food that they collect, please see this flyer.

Join us in celebration of the food drive's success on November 20, 2014!

Our Community

As you visit the gallery, feel free to donate food in the designated area. The food drive will run from October 30 to November 20, 2014.

Our Students

As a part of our educational programming, we are conducting a food drive with the Fine and Performing Arts for School District of South Orange and Maplewood and the art students in those schools. The class(es) with the most donations will win a field trip to the Pierro Gallery. During the field trip, students will enjoy a curator-led tour of TABLEau and participate in a workshop with an artist in the show, Eileen Hoffman.

This food drive starts October 15 and end on November 12, 2014.

Great job to all participating students! Overall, the students raised over 730 food donations! The winning classes of the food drive were two 5th grade classes from Tuscan Elementary school, tying for first with 191 food items each. Congratulations!
